Church of Our Saviour, Hartville, Wyoming, came into being when the Rt. Rev. Nathaniel S. Thomas visited the small mining town in 1911, to discover a group of Episcopalians gathering to worship in the Hartville school. He encouraged them to construct a church, modeling itself after a mission church in Wales. With financial assistance from Episcopalians in Massachusetts, the church was built, and the people from Massachusetts also donated a baptismal font and an altar. The first services were held in the completed church on September 8, 1912.
