Creating Genealogy Sites is Easy!
The genealogy records at this site were created automatically using GEDPAGE software developed by Rob Jacob. This is a wonderful tool for archiving genealogy material since it uses the familiar family group sheet format. The family group sheet format provides more information than other similar programs and also provides for better printing from the web pages. This software also has an option to include notes and source information. Our primary records are kept in Family Tree Maker and exported to a Gedcom file which is then processed with Gedpage to create the HTML files for the web pages. Gedpage automatically creates a GENDEX file that is used to index the site to the GENDEX site which is perhaps the best composite index of individuals included in genealogy sites on the internet.
Most internet providers only allow small
amounts of web space free (commonly 3 megs), but there are sites
that allow as much as 20 megs of free space by putting small
advertisements on the pages. It's hard to turn down the free
space and easy to compromise to a small advertisement. Try GeoCities if you need some free space.
