EQUINE
INFATUATION!
We added horses
to our farmstead once again. This time, we have 'real' horses,
not just auction rejects like we've bought in the past. I'm
excited, and I think John has caught the horse 'bug', too!

This
is Maullido Del Gato, (means 'cry of the cat'). You'll be seeing
a lot more of this mare, as we learn horsemanship with each
other. In these photos, she's just newly under saddle. She's
a gorgeous liver chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. She's proven
herself in the show ring at conformation, winning SWPFA High
Point Bella Forma, and already has produced one outstanding
chestnut filly . We're extremely lucky to have been allowed
to purchase this one! Here, she's teaching herself to flex around
the bosal, and in the second (unusual) photos, she's learning
body language. Note, no headgear! Her trainers are Richard &
Cathy Ledbetter, over 30 years of horse training experience,
using the gentling methods of schooling. This mare has never
had a bit in her mouth and we intend to keep it that way.
Maullido
is bred to Retador (below) for a May foal.

This
handsome guy is Retador Del Casta, the stallion we've been taking
lessons on! Imagine that, a stallion this gorgeous and willing
to train beginners, too! In the left photo, Cathy is showing
off that elegant Paso Fino gait!!
Of
course, he's the chosen husband for Maullido. Visit Paso
De Fe to see more Retador photos as well as other stallions
they stand, Pasos for sale, and the outstanding new foal crop!
