Backstreet Boys - Larger Than Life I finally decided that it would be a nice to have a personal page and to be able to share a little about me with my visitors. When surfing the web I've enjoyed 'meeting' people this way. Odds and Ends I've been married for 10 years to my sweetheart, Paul. We've been calling home wherever the Army has been sending us but are now finally calling home here in the South after my hubby retired after 20 years in the service. We have two beautiful and adorable puppies. You thought I was going to say kids, huh? Gotcha. :o) I'm lucky enough to also have my best friend, my older sister, live in the same town as me. I was born and raised in Germany but call the US my home and I'm a proud citizen of this country now. Hobbies This is always a tough one since there are so many things I like to do. One of my passions is reading. I absolutely adore a good book. I also just got done reading the Green Mile by Stephen King and although I'm big fan of his I can't recommend this book - the movie is probably better *shrug*. I just picked up the Night Awakens by Mary Higgens Clark since she's also one of my favorites (the book cover intrigued me) - yes I admit; clever marketing does pay off. :) One of my favorite books has been The Notebook: A Novel by Nicholas Sparks. It's been my favorite for over a year now and I haven't found any book to take its place. Some of the other things I like to do is bake, crafting and being around my puppies. I also like to learn new things on the computer. Of course web design ranks pretty high. I'm also very interested in animal welfare and many women's issues. My Favorites My favorite food is most definitely ice cream (coffee flavor and I recently discovered Strawberry Cheesecake Flavor - does it get any better?) and my favorite movie will always be An Officer and a Gentleman. When asked what my favorite flower is I'd say the kind that's still alive. I'm not to crazy about cut flowers but I'd say if I'd have to chose it would be Bird of Paradise. My husband has found a way around this and now only buys me beautiful potted flowers - they usually survive quite a while (if I water them haha). The place I dream of will always be Hawaii since we lived there for four years. It's magical. Truly a paradise. This is the current picture for August of my calendar (oopsie...I guess I really haven't updated this section for a while) in my "study". Photo by Kim Anderson. I absolutely love this kind of photography. More beautiful photos here Months gone by: Feb Mar Apr May Jun July "An Officer and a Gentleman" I can't even remember how often I've watched this movie. Richard Gere is fantastic in this role. :o) Ahh and the ending of the movie...where are the tissues.
