Pets play an important part in all our lives. They teach us a lot and children also learn the realities of life as well as teaching them the responsibility of caring for animals.
We have quite a few animals at home. There are three aviaries with a variety of birds. A pair of rabbits live in the aviary as well. Every so often they produce a batch of babies, which when they are big enough, go to the pet shop .Joanne has two pet rats in her room. At times she takes them out and plays with them. Mike will put a rat down his shirt and let it run around, but that is not for me! The rat’s tail is very off putting to me, all long and naked! Then we have Russian Dwarf Hamsters. They are very cute, and live in cages on top of the piano. Then there is a fish tank with gold fish in our lounge. Have you ever watched fish swimming around in a fish tank? I find it very relaxing , so next time you are feeling stressed, watch some fish swimming around and you will also relax!
Then we have our pet dog, called Sasha. She is six years old now and a German Shepherd. A year ago she was very ill, and we thought we would loose her, but thankfully she survived. She has a digestive problem and is on a special diet which is working well.
