On the night of October 30th, 1998, my friend Jeff and I went camping at Zaleski park in Ohio. It was a wonderful trip, absolutely beautiful scenery. We hiked into the woods in the dark, and awoke to what was, according to weather reports, supposed to be a cloudy, rainy day. Not so. The sky we saw through the window of our tent was a bright, perfect blue, the edges of which were highlighted in every shade of orange leaves imaginable. It was truly God's country, unspoiled by traffic, buildings, or people; made even more special by such wonderful company.
Our tent, and the beautiful trees surrounding it.
Jeff making his camping breakfast specialty, apple cinnamon brown sugar pancakes. Those alone are worth the hike!
This is the ravine that Jeff hiked me down. It is one of his favorite spots, and even though the hike is steep and wild, once I was there, the beauty of it made it all worthwhile. Although Jeff did have to pull me back up the hill!
Unfortunately, we used a stove instead of building a fire.... oh well, maybe next time....
