BORN ON MARCH 26, 1948,

IN TAFT, CALIFORNIA. NICK

DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON

SEPTEMBER 1, 1985, AT THE

AGE OF 37 YEARS, FIVE MONTHS,

AND FOUR DAYS. HIS SUDDEN,

UNEXPECTED DEATH, WHICH

OCCURRED AT HIS HOME ON

HIGHWAY 32 IN LICKING, MISSOURI,

WAS THE RESULT OF BEING HIT BY

A PICKUP TRUCK WHILE HE WAS

MOWING HIS FRONT YARD.NICK

TUTTLE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE

TO TERRY LYNN HARRIS ON JUNE

28, 1968. ONE SON, BRAIN NICHOLAS

TUTTLE, WAS BORN TO NICK AND

TERRY IN 1974. ON AUGUST 30, 1985,

THEY ADOPTED A 12 YEAR OLD

DAUGHTER, DEBRA. THEY RESIDE

IN LICKING,MISSOURI.

BESIDES HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN,

HE SURVIVED BY HIS MOTHER,

MABEL NORD, TWO SISTERS:

BARBARA HATCH OF SAUDIA

ARABIA AND SANDIA YARNALL

OF NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, A

HALF-SISTER: VALERIE TUTTLE

AND A HALF- BROTHER: DAVID

TUTTLE, BOTH OF TAFT,

CALIFORNIA, AS WELL AS MANY

RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.

INITIALLY, NICK ATTENDED LICKING

HIGH SCHOOL,THEN GRADUATED

FROM TAFT HIGH SCHOOL IN IN TAFT

CALIFORNIA.  IN THE SUMMER OF 1967,

HE JOINED THE AIR FORCE. AFTER

TRAINING AT LACKLAND AIR FORCE

BASE IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, HE

TAUGHT SURVIVAL TRAINING.

FOLLOWING THAT, HE WAS

STATIONED IN GUAM UNTIL

HE COMPLETED HIS MILITARY

IN 1971. AFTER GRADUATING FROM

COLLEGE IN CALIFORNIA, HE

ACCEPTED A POSITION WITH BEST

PRODUCTS COMPANY, INC.,WHERE

HE BECAME AN ASSISTANT MANAGER.

HE AND HIS FAMILY MOVED TO

LICKING IN OCTOBER, 1979.

NICK WAS AN OUTSTANDING

HUSBAND AND FATHER

TO TERRY AND BRAIN AND DEBRA,

AND A FAITHFUL MEMBER

OF THE BOONE CREEK BAPTIST

CHURCH,WHERE HE WAS A

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, A

DIRECTOR IN THE YOUTH GROUP,

PRESIDENT OF THE CHURCH BOARD,

AND AN ACTIVE SUPPORTER IN

MANY OTHER PROGRAMS. FOR

EXAMPLE, HE WAS AN AVID

SUPPORTER OF THE HELPING

HANDS CRISIS CENTER OF

HOUSTON, WHERE MANY

CONTRIBUTIONS WERE GIVEN

IN HIS MEMORY IN LIEU OF

FLOWERS.IN THE PAST FEW YEARS,

HE HAD BEEN A DEVOTED SON

AND HELPER ON THE FARM TO

HIS MOTHER,MABEL NORD,

AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS STEP-

FATHER, THE LATE ALBERT NORD.

NICK TOOK PRIDE IN BOTH HIS

WORK AS RETAIL MANAGER WITH

THE SCOTT MATERIAL AND

LUMBER COMPANY AND IN HIS

HORSES AND HORSEMANSHIP.

RECENTLY, THIS PAST YEAR,

NICK WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN

ORGANIZING THE LICKING SADDLE

CLUB, WHICH PRESENTLY BOASTS

OF 70-PLUS MEMBERS, WHILE AT

THE SAMETIME, DEVOTING MANY

HOURS TO COACHING LITTLE LEAGUE

BASEBALL.

HE WILL SADLY BE MISSED BY HIS

RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. SERVICES

WERE HELD WEDNESDAY,

SEPTEMBER 4, 1985, AT 2:00 P.M.,

AT BOONE CREEK BAPTIST

CHURCH, WITH REV. BOYD GRAY

AND REV. FRED BOBE OFFICIATING.

HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE:

BURT BOLDING, KEITH CANTRELL,

DALE DIEDRICH, WILFORD GROVER,

GLYN HARRIS, JOHNNY MITCHELL,

BILL SMITH, AND WALLEY WRAY.

PALLBEARERS WERE: MITCHELL

BARWICK, JERRY BLAIR, BILLIE

BOLDING, DON HATCH, KENNY REED

AND GRAY YARNALL. INTERMENT

WAS IN THE CANTRELL CEMETERY

UNDER THE DIRECTION OF

FOX FUNERAL HOME.
