NEWTON EVERETT HANCOCK, 93,SON OF JOHN AND CORA PHARRIS HANCOCK, WAS BORN APRIL 15, 1897, AT CROCKER. HE DIED FEB. 6, 1991,AT TEXAS COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN HOUSTON. HE LIVED IN ST LOUIS FOR MANY YEARS, WHERE HE WAS A STREET CAR OPERATOR AND SERVED ON THE ST. LOUIS POLICE FORCE. FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT, HE AND HIS WIFE MOVED TO THE ROBY COMMUNITY, WHERE HE OPERATED HANCOCK'S STORE AT WINDY CURVE. HE WAS A VETERAN OF WORLD WAR 1 AND A MEMBER OF THE MASONIC LODGE. MR. HANCOCK WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE, SADIE; ONE SON, EDWARD; ONE DAUGHTER, GERALDINE; TWO SISTER, ETHEL AND LOTTIE; AND ONE BROTHER, CLIFF. SURVIVING ARE A GRANDDAUGHTER, THREE GREAT- GRANDCHILDREN; FIVE BROTHERS, CARROLL OF PAHRUMP,NEV., EMMETT AND CLYDE OF ST. JAMES, MO. PAUL OF BUCYRUS,MO.,AND PLESLEY OF PUEBLO, COLO.; AND ONE SISTER, CLARA HART OF CARTHAGE,MO.. SERVICES WERE FEB. 9, 1991 AT THE EVANS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. CLINTON TAYLOR OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE PINE LAWN CEMETERY. |
