My other passion is genealogy. With the help of a newly found cousin, Marc Arnoldy, we have traced my family back to France in the early 1500's. Which was amazing since my father didn't know his grandparents' names. I am currently looking for information on the Martin family of Lewiston, Maine. Reginald Martin married Violet Dulac in 1937, in Lewiston, Maine. Violet's parents were Rudolphe Dulac and Mora Arnoldy, both of Skowhegan and Lewiston, Maine. Reginald's parents were Victor Cyr Martin and Flora Talbot, of Madawaska and Lewiston, Maine.
The other side of my family tree came from Norway. My maternal grandmother came from Norway around 1915 or so. I am not sure of the exact year. Her father, Andreas Mathisen, settled in Petersburg, Alaska, upon his arrival in the United States. His daughter, my grandmother, Anna Mathisen married Marvin Kvernvik. My grandfather, Marvin, was born in Tacoma, Washington. His father came from Norway before he was born. They came through Ellis Island in New York City in 1906.
