We thought of you with love today
But that was nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday
And the days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.
All we have are memories
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake
For which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our hearts..

LOUISE
Dear Grandma,
I love you most for your grace, beauty and tender loving
nature. You have always been the most beautiful of God's
creations to me. I dont think I ever told you but thank
you for the many seeds you planted in me. They grew into
who I am today and I am a part of you..
The seed of faith. Faith in God. When I was little I
could see your love for Our Lord shining bright in your
eyes. Mother always told me if I had the faith of a
mustard seed I could move montains. I think she got that
from you . Thank you for marking all those little spots in
my Bible for me to appreciate one day. I do.
The seed of forgiveness. That was a hard one for me but I
have finally learned the art of it. You always told me it
was easier to forgive than to carry the burden on my
shoulders. You were right. I have forgiven those who have
wronged me and hurt no more.
The seed of believing. Believing in myself as well as
others. You always helped me to believe I didnt make
mistakes, just bad choices. As long as I learned from them
it was considered a lesson of life. You are right.
The seed of hope. Hope for brighter days ahead no matter
how tough things seemed to be. You always reassured me my
hopes and dreams were not out of reach as long as I kept
reaching for them.
The seed of love. Not just love, unconditional love for
myself and others. I honestly believed many years you were
the only person in the whole world that has loved me every
day of my life. I was wrong. Your daughter, my Mother,
has turned out to be the mirror of you. I dont know if
I've ever told you but thank you for my Mother. Like you,
she loves me for who I am....unconditionally. I watched
you be a Mother and a Grandma. You stood behind us all no
matter which path we chose. You were always there to catch
us if we stumbled along the way.
Just as every seed you planted in your garden grew so have
I. I wish at times we could go back to the days I snuck
around in your tulip garden. For every tulip I picked ten
more took it's place. For every cookie I snuck out of the
freezer, a dozen more showed up. For every prayer I
prayed, you prayed ten fold. It never dawned on me then,
but I know now the many tears I cried were making the many
seeds you planted grow within me. I love you Grandma with
all my heart. Thank you for taking every step of my life
with me. You are my inspiration and the love of my
life.
Always & Forever,
Eileen
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP. I AM NOT THERE. I
DO NOT SLEEP. I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW. I AM
THE DIAMOND GLINTS ON SNOW. I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON
RIPENED GRAIN. I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN. WHEN
YOU AWAKEN IN THE MORNING'S HUSH, I AM THE SWIFT
UPLIFTING RUSH OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLING FLIGHT. I
AM THE SOFT STAR THAT SHINES AT NIGHT. DO NOT STAND AT
MY GRAVE AND CRY. I AM NOT THERE. I DID NOT
DIE.

The Last Hug
I said, "Say good-bye to grandma,"
and in my stomach, I felt a knot...
"and give her a very special hug
that shows you love her a lot."
I reminded her, "be gentle...
she isn't feeling well today,"
and I let them have their moment
as I slowly backed away.
She welcomed my child's embrace;
her weakened arms held open wide.
I had to walk in the other room
and it was there, I knelt and cried.
I knew we were sharing the same fear
as reality began to unfurl;
we both knew this could be the last time
that she would hold my little girl.
There was something different in this hug;
as if my young daughter had a sense,
of the importance of that moment
and its true significance.
In my mind, there is a memory;
an image unlike any other
of watching my daughter share this love
with her daddy's gracious mother.
I wondered how she understood
the special reasons why,
as she laid her head on grandmas shoulder
and precious minutes passed us by.
Thinking back now, I remember
those feelings when we had to leave...
because indeed, that was the last hug
from her, my daughter would receive.
And although she's gone, she's not forgotten,
for I see within my child...
the warmth and love that we all felt
every time that woman smiled.
We all must face the inevitable,
but I cant help but wish it so,
that she was still a part of my child's life, and
still here to watch her grow.
But I will speak of her special ways
and make my daughter understand
that in the word "grandmother,"
she exemplified the "grand."
So every time you leave a loved one,
remember the present becomes the past,
and make that hug a special one...
for it could be the very last.

It may seem strange to some to honor a Grandma in
Heaven
and a Mother on earth within the same page but they are
one ...

Happy Mothers Day to you both!
The Gift of a Mother
Sometimes it takes
so many years
To appreciate a Mother
and all of her tears.
Many gifts of life
my Mom gave to me.
I learned as she faced
life's uncertainties.
The gift of acceptance
for who I am.
She always "let go" knowing
I'de be back again.
The gift of encouragement
when nothing went right.
"You can do it!" she'd say.
"Dont give up the fight."
The gift of survival
she made loud and clear.
Gaining strength and endurement
Through each silent tear.
The gift of determination
When life falls apart.
Many times she stood tall
and made a new start.
The gift of patience
for all that I need.
Time would take care of it
if I planted a seed.
The faith of a mustard seed
She always did say
Would move any mountain
out of my way.
The gift of life
My Mom gave to me.
Special through my eyes
She will forever be.
The gift of love
for myself and others.
No love can compare
To the love of a Mothers.

A Child's Angel
Once upon a time there was a child
ready to be born. So one day he
asked the Father:
"They tell me you are sending me to earth
tomorrow but how am I going to
live there being so small and helpless?"
"Among the many angels, I chose one for you.
She will be waiting for
you and will take care of you."
"But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't
do anything else but sing and
smile, that's enough for me to be happy."
"Your angel will sing for you and will
also smile for you every day.
And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."
"And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me, if I
don't know the language that men talk?"
"Your angel will tell you the most
beautiful and sweet words you will
ever hear, and with much patience
and care, your angel will teach you how
to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I
want to talk to you?"
"Your angel will place your hands together and will
teach you how to
pray."
"I've heard that on earth there
are bad men. Who will protect me?"
"Your angel will defend you even
if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I
will not see you anymore."
"Your angel will always talk to you
about me and will teach you the way
for you to come back to me, even
though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven,
but voices from earth could
already be heard, and the
child in a hurry asked softly:
"Oh please, if I am about to leave now,
please tell me my angel's name."
"Your angel's name is of no importance,
you will call your angel: Mom."
Give Grandad a real big hug and kiss! He brought so much happiness and laughter into our lives. I truely cannot remember ever hearing a cross word from either one of you. Glad that you are together again as you waited patiently for so many years.
