My family was there from 1975-78, and we were members of the WHOA club starting in '76 I believe. We enjoyed the shows trememdously, and my parents had a pa t in the action, too. My father, Bill Van Dyck, is an electrician, and you could always depend on him to get those timers going, and my Mom, Arlene, ran the tack shop for a while. Comments: I'm not quite sure how I stumbled across this web site about RRR, which was WHOA when I was in PR from 85-89. I owned Rebel, Fiesta, and Jubia. Before owning them I took care of Bacardi. I know that Fiesta is deceased, I had sold her to the farrier(Yuq e)for his youngest son, I spoke to him after I left there and he said she had passed on. Of course neither Rebel, Jubia nor Bacardi were all that young, but I would love to hear from anyone who might know anything about them. I loved it there and even t ough I am grown now always wished I could return. My husband is in the Navy, but I don't know if we will ever get to go...you know how the Navy is. HaHa! For anyone who can relate to this...here's a few of the things I loved...all the shows(especially way ones), trail rides(horse beach), manhunt, tag, and racing down the stetch, and I guess I could go on...now that I have taken a trip down memory lane. My father was stationed at Rosy Roads from 1963-68, and we had the pleasure of owning four horses during his tour of duty,which was longer than most because they kept granting him extentions. We loved living there! My sister and I have a lot of fond memories of our time at the stables. (They didn't have a specific name, at that time) We participated in all the trail rides and horse shows during those years. We spent all of our free time at the stables caring f r and riding our horses. My horse, "Shine", was my best friend and a young girl's dream come true to own her very own horse. I still have all the ribbons and trophies, that Shine and I won, way back then. It's good to know that this still exists at Rosy Roads. It's a good outlet for young people, gives them responsiblity and self-esteem. Happy trails!

I have wonderful childhood memories from spending the most important years of my life there. I enjoyed the stables so much!! I took care of Pa ty Roho's horse "Paloma" until he was sold off Base. Then towards the end, I owned "Canario" and "Crystal". "Canario" was my sweetheart!!!!!! I miss him so bad. I'm now 35, divorced,and I have a ten year old beautiful daughter(which I'm using her aol ad ress). I've been searching for a good vacation package to P.R., so that I can take my daughter there and show her all the things that I enjoyed while I was there. Hopefully the Base will give us a pass.
