Paso Fino is the horse of Puerto Rico and it is popular for riders to get on their horses and form a 'parranda' through the streets for special occasions. The occasion pictured here is in celebration of Christmas. Unfortunately, the photographs do not truly show all the activity, the warm breezes, the music or the clip clop of the horses on the blacktop.
These three photographs are from December 1998 in Quebrada, Fajardo. The riders gather with their Paso Finos and ride behind big truck floats filled with people and music. The 'parranda' proceeds up the street and through other neighborhoods.
