Philly Sports
Welcome to the page that gives our view on Philly teams of all kinds, including the ever-important fantasy sports information relating to the sports world. Here's what is going on these days....
Da Birds
Hey man, stop the presses, the Eagles are 5-3! As predicted right here, Donovan McNabb looks like he's the real deal, and keeps getitng better every week. By now, everyone knows about Duce Staley as well, so looks like we'll have to fill that RB role this year by committee! What's Earl Campbell's number, and how is his speed holding up these days?
We are both lucky enough to hold season tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles, click each date below for a quick summary of the game, some observations, and -- even more importantly -- our 700 level photo of the game! By the way, if it looks like some games are missing, that's because only the home games fall under scrutiny here.
September 10 - NY Giants 33, Philly 18
Ouch! While the final score looks nice and competitive, this game was anything but. The Eagles looked rather flat coming off the 41-14 destruction of Dallas on the road, followed by so many pickle references in the ensuing week it would make a Vlasic employee blush. The Giants dominated all aspects of the game, running and throwing and doing it all. The bright note on this is that Donovan McNabb provided the Y2Kotite fantasy football powerhouse with much-needed garbage points in making the score respectable after being down 33-6. Okay, let's move on then.
October 1 - Philly 38, Atlanta 10
Now that's more like it! What a spicy meatball! Atlanta came into the Vet and left with a big "L" -- on national television (which suits us just fine). Unfortunately, this victory had one casualty, running back Duce Staley, who we later found out would be lost for the season. Ouch! Crystal Chandelier got smacked up by the Eagles D in this one, and to top it off, the Falcons had pretty much quit by the end of the game. As much as the Eagles were outplayed by The Giants, they returned the favor and did the same to Atlanta. Brian Mitchell returned a kick for a TD and ended the scoring with an 85-yard TD run from scrimmage. Not bad at all, my man. We belived Brian Mitchell would be well worth the money paid to him if he returned two kicks for TD's this year, and the kick return at this game did just that. Now, about Duce Staley.....
October 8 - Washington 17, Philly 14
October 22 - Iggles 13, Bears 9
November 5 - Dallas Cowboys
November 19 - Arizona Cardinals
December 3 - Tennessee Titans
December 24 - Cincinnati Bengals
Fantasy Football
Of course, what would football be without fantasy football? At the halfway point of the fantasy season, the power of Y2Kotite has not been fully unleashed in the FFL, since we sport a 4-4 record after a couple tough losses. However, we will not be deterred, as is evidenced by this lineup all will fear in Week 9:
