Mission Statement - Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with God's people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities, which people can live and grow into all that God intended.
Partnering with Woodmen Valley Chapel Habitat has many blessings:
Witness God's love by sharing your talents Learn or share construction skills while working in Christian fellowship... meeting new friends and making connections with other Ministry Partners Gain a first hand understanding of the desperate need for affordable housing in Colorado Springs Deepen your understanding of Christ's message by putting your faith into action There is talk of planning a short-term mission trip to Johannesburg South Africa for partnering with our sister church, Randberg Assembly, to build Habitat homes near the Community Center that WVChapel supports Habitat homes are a hand up... not a hand out. Each homeowner invests over 350 hours of "sweat equity" before qualifying for a "no interest" mortgage on the wholesale value of the home A gift that truly keeps on giving... mortgage payments paid by the homeowner return to be used in the future to build additional Habitat homes
Our Habitat Ministry brings together a diverse group of people, to build and renovate houses for needy families. It is also brings us closer to God as we work in unison doing his work. Please join us in what we feel is the highest paying job you'll ever have!!! Can you think of a better way to become involved in a worthwhile Christian Ministry? Habitat for Humanity's Ultimate Goal To eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth
The Habitat Ministry Goal To fulfill the Vision of Woodmen Valley Chapel Global Impact: "To equip and connect Christ followers with opportunities for service, helping them discover and experience Jesus' passion for all people, transforming their lives".
Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?" The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me". Mathew 25:37-40 NIV
Habitat for Humanity's Ultimate Goal: To eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by constructing and building adequate and basic housing. All of our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically, and religiously unacceptable.
