In Loving Memory
This page is dedicated to the memory of my father, Daniel Charles Lewis.  We miss you!
March 4, 1947-September 11, 1999
September 11, 2006--I can hardly believe its been seven years.  And then other times, it seems like an eternity!  The tv today is full of so much sadness(to me) with the memorials for 9/11.  It's a double whammy for us since we lost you on 9/11 but two years prior.  So much has happened since I wrote you last, we've moved to Hawaii and back to Texas, Melani has had a baby and has another on the way.  Hopefully Lynette will be able to follow soon!  Rob deployed to Afghanistan and will deploy to Iraq next month.  Please watch over him while he is there, I am really worried about him.  Lindsay started high school this year, Hailey fourth and Ryan started kinder.  But one thing hasn't changed, and that's that we still miss you like crazy!
September 10, 2002--I can't believe it will be three years tomorrow.  Sometimes it seems like  longer...sometimes it seems like only yesterday that you were still with us on this earth.  You've had several family members join you.  But we have also had something good happen this year, too.  Like Melani and Chris getting married.  I really do think you would have liked him...he's a great guy!
The kids are growing like weeds, and I still wish you were here to see them.  I feel really cheated sometimes when I get to feeling selfish.  I get jealous of friends who still have their fathers here.  But again....you were in so much pain and you are in a much better place.  But it doesn't change the fact that we miss you like crazy.
September 6, 2001:  The 2 year anniversary of your death is approaching really fast.  I still really miss you.  I wish you had had the opportunity to meet Ryan, and spend more time with Lindsay, Hailey, and Brandi.  But I know that you are always with us, and you have a pretty hefty job up there, watching after my baby angels.
Sometimes it seems so unreal that you are really gone.  But, its real.  And as sad as it makes me, I know you are in a better place, and no longer in pain.  I also know that you are watching over all of us, and that gives me some comfort.
Safely Home
I am home in heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in heaven at last.
There is work still waiting for you.
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth--
You shall rest in God's own land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
Miss Me - But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me - but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take.
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends you know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me - but let me go!
