All About DonnaMy name is Donna, I'm 33 years old, and I live in North Augusta, South Carolina. I am a Southerner, born and bred, but I sure do hate our hot, humid summers and almost non-existent changes of season. Now, if I could find a place where it was never hotter than 75 degrees Fahrenheit, that would be heaven! I'm the product of a private school education. That isn't said as something to brag about, but a statement that my parents struggled to provide the best possible educational opportunties for my brother and me. We were not rich by any stretch of the imagination, and looking back, I can see the sacrifices they made to give us a better chance at life than they had. I graduated from John C. Calhoun Academy in 1983, and attended college on scholarships, loans, and grants. (Yes, it took me YEARS to pay back my school loans, but I have no regrets. There are so many more career opportunities available thanks to that degree!) I graduated from Coker College, a small liberal arts college in South Carolina, in 1987 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Ever since graduation, I have worked in some sort of scientific or healthcare related job including work in a hospital genetics lab, a cancer treatment research lab, and a clinical research facility for investigational medicines. I currently have a great job as a home-based Clinical Research Associate for a company called PPD Pharmaco. I am currently assigned to a Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia trial, but have been working on other things including depression, schizophrenia, and lipid reduction. My job involves a lot of travel, and I have been to places like Florida, New Mexico, California, Arizona, Arkansas, West Virginia, Alabama, Rhode Island, and Texas. Our company office is located in Austin, Texas. I love my job! In my spare time (ha ha!) I enjoy web page design and am working on a new page especially made with the Clinical Research Professional in mind. It seems that the new page will NEVER get finished!
