How our family contributes to our world
What makes our family
special is something
that can make any family special.
We love Christ!
Our daughter attends a Christian school
and we attend church regularly.
Going to church and being saved doesnt
exempt you from lifes troubles,
but it sure makes dealing with them a lot easier.
Knowing you can lean on God is a powerful thing.
Rather than talk alot about ourselves,
we'd like to just take this opportunity to
mention a few things we can all do to
make the world a better place.
VOLUNTEER
In just a few hours, you can make a
big difference in the lives of others.
Whether you volunteer at the Red Cross,
your church,
or at a local organization,
it doesn't matter.
This is one area we are trying to
increase our own participation in.
Fortunately, we attend a large
church and have many opportunities
to help needy families,
as well as ministering to those
who are not saved.
BLOOD DONOR
Believe it or not, giving
blood is one
of the easiest things we can do for
someone else.
The benefits you receive
far outweigh the very minimal
pain and time involved in
giving blood.
Did you know that blood type 0+ is
called the UNIVERSAL DONOR?
This is because anyone needing blood
can be given 0+ blood.
Also, 0- is the UNIVERSAL RECIPIENT.
ORGAN DONOR
Many refrain from being
organ donors
because they are afraid their body
will not be "presentable" for memorial services.
This is not true.
Organ procurement agencies are
very attentive to this matter.
Please consider signing your driver's license
or contacting a local agency for a card that
can be filled out.
Your family will have to support
your decision so be sure to
discuss it with them.
The life you save may be
someone you know or a complete
stranger, but what's the difference?
In God's eyes, there is none.
PRAYER
If you truly dont have
the time it takes to volunteer
(and even if you do),
please use the time you have to pray for others.
The Bible says we are to intercede on behalf of others.
God doesnt mind if you pray while youre washing dishes,
driving the car, sweeping the floor, etc.
He just wants to have time with you and wants
you to speak to him about anything & everything.
No request is too big or too small.
God is an on-time God but his timing may not be what you prefer;
his answer may not be either
but he will answer your prayer.
Next time you pray, thank God for this great day!
