Very Early Edition - December 25, 2007 - Volume 15, Issue 1 (Our fifteenth year)
We hope and pray that you all have a blessed Christmas. We will be spending the holidays in Omaha again this year. We are looking forward to Jeff and Vanessa flying up from Tampa for a few days after Christmas.
As you no doubt heard the holiday spirit in Omaha was dealt a blow by the mass murder at the nearby Westroads Mall. The snow and cold came the next day and they have yet to leave us.
It has been said that Omaha is a one-degree-of-separation city. As such, most everyone knows somebody who knows somebody that was impacted by the shootings. We were no exception. The mother of the two girls on the boat dock in the picture below was working in the gift wrapping area on the third floor of Von Maur at the time of the shootings. We are thankful that she was not physically harmed during the incident. The niece of one of the engineers that Bob worked with at Western Electric was not as fortunate. Dianne Trent, an employee of Von Maur, was one of the eight people murdered at the Westroads.
We did not stray to far from Omaha during 2007. Our big trip was to Tampa, Florida in April to attend the wedding of our daughter Vanessa to Mr. Jeffrey Alicea.
Pictured below is the new couple with Vanessa's parents, her uncle Roy (far left) and his family, her uncle Roger, and her sister Lisa. See Weddings below.
Bob and Terry took a couple of short trips up to Bismarck, North Dakota in the fall to attend a wedding and a funeral. They enjoyed the fall scenery and visits to the
Terry Redlin Art Center in Watertown, SD on both of these trips. Terry is pictured below talking to Uncle Mike Senger during the latter trip to Bismarck. As 2007 drew to a close so did the upstairs bathroom-remodeling project.
The new shower doors should be installed soon we stink -- er we think.
Bob Burdett = Status Quo
Not much has changed for good old Bob. He still rides his bicycle for exercise and volunteers from time to time at the
Holy Family Shrine. In May he completed the fourth and last year of The Denver Catholic Biblical School (all 73 books of the Catholic Bible). Bob is pictured below playing an intense game of checkers with his grandson Jayson. Note from the impatient look and stack of black checkers who is winning.Terry Burdett goes Canoeing and Tanking
You would never guess that Terry is scared of water by her actions during 2007. She is shown below with Matt on Walnut Creek Lake. She also went "tanking" down the Elkhorn River with some other ladies from her church during the summer and stuck her feet in the Gulf of Mexico while visiting Florida.
Terry continues to work at
Trinity Church. She leads the church's senior citizens group (Keenagers), on a volunteer basis. For kicks, she crochets scarves, goes to Creighton Basketball games, and plays games on the computer -- when she is not in or on the water or working out at the gym.People In the News

Weddings
Alicea - Kramis
The wedding celebration of Vanessa Rae Kramis and Jeffrey Alicia was held on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the
Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, FL. The Gulf of Mexico in the background and the white sand beach made for a lovely setting for the ceremony. Vanessa, Jake, and Jeff are pictured below uniting their sands into one common container during the wedding ceremony.A reception and dance was held at the Don CeSar Beach Resort after the wedding.
Some of the wedding party are pictured below on the beach after the Friday night rehearsal.
After honeymooning in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the newlyweds returned to their home in Tampa.

The highlight of Jayden's year was probably the Hannah Montana concert that she got to attend in October. She enjoys singing in the choir.Jayson Watts is a first grader at Harvey Oaks School. He is pictured below in the budgie bird exhibit at Omaha's
Henry Doorly Zoo. He and grandpa did some bike riding around the neighborhood and over to Boys Town during the summer to check out the farm animals. In Memoriam
