Carolee began growing herbs for teas in her backyard in the 1960s.
By 1977, she was growing a wide selection of herbs on a small farm in beautiful
southern Indiana, selling to farmer's markets, restaurants, and by mail
order.
In 1992, Carolee dug and moved over 80,000 plants on 22 U-Haul trucks to her new location in Blackford County. Now, as the owner of Indiana's largest retail herb farm, she grows over 2,000 varieties of herbs, perennials, everlastings, and old-fashioned flowers. Carolee travels throughout the country, encouraging gardening, speaking on the pleasures of growing and crafting with herbs, and giving slide presentations on herb gardens in the United States and in England. She has also written a number of articles for several magazines and books on gardening and herbs. |
Groups are invited to contact the farm to arrange for speaking engagements by Carolee. Call 765-348-3162 for information. Among her talks are:
