TRIBAL WAYS AND CULTURE
One of Webster's definitions of the word "way" is "a regular, continued course of life or action". It is within this context that we wish to bring
you information about how many Native Tribes there are and how they lived
from day to day. Here, we will tell you about their customs of housing, gathering food, and making the things that they needed to live, such
as, clothing, cooking utensils and other necessities.
Tribal Ways
Customs change depending upon the geography, resources and the ability to
procure the essentials for life. We will strive to look at the past, the
present and also compare the similarities and
differences among many Native American Nations and Tribes.
Tribal Culture
Once again, Webster helps us to understand the
nature of and define the word "culture". He tells us that a
culture is a society that is characterized by a particular
form or stage of civilization or societal development. Here,
we would like to offer you information regarding family
structure, law or form of government, learning and the progress
of Nations and Tribes in past times and in the contemporary
world. Stories and legends have an important place in
history and often tell about meaningful events in cultural
development. We hope to provide some of these for your
reading pleasure and learning.
