Karen's Own Page

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, then went to college at
Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, where I met my
future husband, Don. Valparaiso is a Lutheran-affiliated
school that has consistently been named by U.S. News &
World Report as one of the best universities in the midwest in
its annual rankings.

Don and I married June 24, 1989. Our first son, Jacob, was
born October 14, 1994, followed by two more boys, Ben on
July 2, 1996, and Nick on February 12, 1998.

I worked for the American Red Cross for 5 years, in the
processing laboratory. Since Ben's birth, I have been a stay-at-
home mom (SAHM). I love being my children's primary care-
taker. It's not easy sometimes, but it is worth it, for me and
for them. They know that they can count on Mom and I
know them better than anyone. I also get to see almost all of
their "firsts".
