The German Mugs above serve a dual purpose on a wine glass page. Primarily our collection of glasses is mainly from the Mosel River area and I couldn't find two more that I wanted to put on the page and secondly even though the mugs don't look like they would hold more wine than the glasses don't be fooled by the size. They probably held about a half bottle of wine and were a good addition to have along at a wine fest unless of course you were uncouth and drank right from the bottle.
The reason that we have a 20 to one ratio of Mosel Wine glasses as compared to Rhein glasses is because both of us preferred the sweeter taste of Mosel Wine and it was a lot closer to the Mosel River than to the Rhein River from where we lived.
