Fort Paull Visitors' Centre and Armouries opened its gates to the the public in 2000 and has enjoyed some degree of success, being awarded several awards for tourist attractions etc. . There is plenty of car parking at the Fort and access is via Back Lane/Thorngumbald Road; visitors are asked to leave the village after visiting the Fort via Town End Road and Main Street (turn left at the War Memorial) in order to avoid the blind junction at the top of the village and ease congestion and traffic disturbance on Back Lane.
