Higgs Ancestry

*I don't know much about the Higgs family, but many of their pictures are featured in my photo library located here.

Charles Higgs was born about 1865. He married Harriet Cross. They had 5 children, namely, Alden, Frank, Seymour, Belle, and Jen.

                    Frank was born on 5-13-1882 in Worth, New York. He married Marion Hill on                           12-29-1910.
                    Alden was born on 8-26-1890 in Ellisburg, NY. He married Pearl Smith on                           10-25-1916. He died in Adams, NY.
                     Semour is a mystery to me. My great aunt told me that he sailed on the Great                           Lakes and drowned. I have a chest that belonged to him.
                     Belle married a man with the last name Golding. My grandma says that she                        was a very sweet lady. She also told me that her Aunt Belle used to decorate                        her outhouse with colorful magazine pictures!

Jen Higgs, daughter of Charles, was born on 8-4-1878. She married Walter Lean who was born on 6-11-1877. They married on 6-30-1904. They had 2 children, Earl and Bertha. Earl was born on 3-29-1907 and sadly died that same year on October 11th. Walter died on 3-30-1931 and Jen died on 4-16-1958.

Bertha Lean, daughter of Jen, was born on 4-4-1911 in Ellisburg, NY. She married Clifford Matthews on 11-12-1927 in Sandy Creek, NY. They had 2 children, Shirley and Joyce. Clifford died on 12-13-1954 and Bertha died on 5-5-1999.
