I live in a northern Canadian town called Labrador City,
in the province of Newfoundland. That's not very far north you say? True enough, but this is where I spend my "down south" days when I'm off work, from the Arctic coast! (Hall Beach). Soon, I'll have more pictures to bring the north to you all. Working and living in the far north brings on much spare time, when its too cold to venture outside after the working day has ended. This is when I spend my spare time doing what I enjoy, to kill the long cold nights. I started building wooden ship models, from kits, which can be very time consuming. I'm presently working on my third project, so I'm still relatively new at it. Here's briefly the projects I've done: My first project was the 'Bluenose II' a Canadian ship, that was built to replace the original schooner of the 1920's. Secondly, I've recently completed a cross section of the H.M.S. Victory. Hopefully I'll have pictures soon, too. I am presently working on the French Ship called 'Astrolabe' that was built in 1812. |
