TO MY GARDEN OF EDEN

POBEAR'S FAMILY AND CHURCH

This page is devoted to the introduction of my family and our church. It is not in any way an official page of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Every effort has been made to ensure that the content is within church standards.

A Brief Introduction To Me

My name is Sandra but I usually go by Sandi. I was raised in Southern California in a little town named Yorba Linda.
It is now home to the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library.
The elementary school I attended was once located where the library now stands.

I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. My father passed on in 1982 and my mother moved back to her childhood hometown shortly after his passing.

In 1982, prior to my father's passing, I graduated from
California State University at Fullerton. Since then I have been continuing my education but on a more informal basis. My current avocation is computers. That was probably easy to figure out!!

My Best Friend

While I was attending High School, I met a girl named Jennifer. I always called her Henny. After we were introduced, we became fast friends. That friendship is still intact to this day!! Jennifer has helped me out in more ways than a person could ever expect. We spent a lot of time together going to dances, exchanging our innermost secrets, and just having fun. Their are two things that she did for me that I will never be able to repay. That is my introduction to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and my husband

My Conversion

After my initial introduction to the Church, I didn't have contact with it for many years. In 1982, after my college graduation, I moved away from home and started a full time job. At that job I met a young man who was preparing to leave on a Church Mission to Paraguay. I was invited to church with his family to say farewell. During that service, I was asked many questions and, much to their surprise, was able to answer the majority. At some point I was asked why I had never been baptized. I responded that I had never been asked before. I began the missionary discussions again, and was baptized on 11 September 1982. It was a special service for more than the obvious reason. The young man who baptized me, Blair, was to leave on his mission the very next day. I was his first official baptism!!

My Courtship & Marriage

After my baptism, I decided to move back home with my family. A couple of months later, my father had a car accident and died. It was so difficult on me because I hadn't seen him regularly in months.
During this time, Jennifer had been setting me up on numerous blind dates. In April of 1983, she tried to set me up on, in her words, just one more!! She said that I knew this guy. His name is Arlen. I told her that I would be willing to meet him at a church social, but if he wanted to go out with me, he would have to ask. We met at the social, and again the next night at a dance. The next day, Sunday, Arlen showed up at the building where I went to church. The next day we went to a Family Home Evening for young singles, and when Arlen dropped me off at my home, he asked me to marry him. Only a 3 day courtship!!! In 1983 we were sealed for time and all eternity in the
Los Angeles Temple.

Our Children

Nine months later we had a son born to us. He was such a special spirit that he did not have to suffer through this life and was called back to live with our Heavenly Father. Learn more about Brent by clicking on the angel.

A little over a year after that, we were blessed with the birth of our daughter, Sabrina. To learn more about her, click on the rose below.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to have anymore children

I pray that as you visit this page you will feel a special spirit. Please check out the links here and hopefully you will come to love the gospel of Jesus Christ as much as I have.
