This is my Cyber Faerie, Skye. She was adopted at Ophelia's Life. Click here if you would like to adopt one.
This is where you get to find out a little more about the person who created these pages. I thank you for being patient with me, as I add and (hopefully) improve these pages. :)
As I introduced myself before, I am Kris, otherwise known as Ladyhawke. I am a wife, and mother who has discovered the joys of a computer! I also work outside the home (part-time), just to keep me sane after spending all day at home. I work in retail and have been with the same company for a total of 10 years, so I'm pretty comfortable there. It helps that I work with a lot of really great people! I've recently decided to expand my horizons by going back to school. I've just enrolled in my second semester of college courses, which I am taking online, to fit around my busy schedule! :)
For any of you who may know me slightly, you know that I have two real loves (besides family, of course). These are music and reading. I could not imagine living without music and am rarely seen without a book in my hand. My taste in music is quite varied and my taste in literature (if I can call it that) tends to lean towards the popular.
Because music has always been such a huge part of my life, I decided that this would be a nice place for my singing Tiddle! I just adopted her from the Tiddle Adoption Center. Isn't she cute.....you can visit the Center and adopt a Tiddle yourself. To find out a bit more about Tiddles, check out the link on my "Links" page.
My absolute favourite recording artist is Chris de Burgh. Most of you will know him for the popular song "Lady in Red", but his music stretches far beyond that one song. He has music to suit every mood, from romance and love to excitement and energy. If you haven't listened to him, you should give him a try. For more information try the link here "Go to CdeB". I will try to add some sound wav file here soon, but in the mean time, the Official Chris de Burgh Home page has sounds, a biography and lots more, including a great chat room!!! I have made many friends there, and through some links that I hope to add shortly, you will be able to meet some of them too! As you can see, I can go on and on about this subject.
Believe it or not, I do enjoy other musical artists, as well. Like the rest of the family, I too, listen to "New" Country music. In the last couple of years, my husband and I have been to concerts given by Garth Brooks (all I can say is WOW!!!!), Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Saywer Brown, and Tim McGraw. (If you want links to some of these artists, like Garth and Alan, check out my girls' pages, they are as big fans as I am).
This was great...I got to meet Trace after the show, outside his tour bus! Can you tell I was excited???
Aside from Chris de Burgh and New Country music, I also enjoy many artists from the 80's. I think that my favourite (after Chris, of course) has to be Alan Parsons Project. They have such a unique sound, I never tire of listening to their music. Amongst my other favourites are Billy Joel, Phil Collins and Elton John (isn't that a surprise.......aren't they amongst most peoples' favourites :)??), Queen and one of my all time favourites......The Beatles!!!! (For a peek at some of my favourite Beatles sites, please visit Ladyhawke's Beatles Page and follow some of the links there! :)
I was lucky enough to attend one of Elton John's 3 Canadian concert dates recently. The best way to describe it is "WOW!!!!" . The concert was fantastic, the music was great and Elton John was truly amazing. He played many of his past hits like, "Honky Cat", "Daniel", "Levon", and "Saturday Night's Alright (for fighting)" as well as more recent ones like "Can you Feel The Love Tonight", "Made in England" and "Something About The Way You Look Tonight". The show was over 2 1/2 hours long, including 2 encores, and was worth the 17 years that I have been waiting to see him!
One of my other interests is musical theatre. I have seen quite a few, including "West Side Story", "Cats", "Phantom of the Opera", "Jesus Christ Superstar", and "Forever Plaid". I went to see "Lord of the Dance" in Early December. This was something else that I'd been waiting to see. It was an incredible show......I don't think that humans should be able to move their feet that fast!! It was certainly one of my favourite shows. Check out the site and in my opinion, the show is absolutely breathtaking.
I have always been fascinated with fantasy creatures. Since I was very young I have collected UNICORNS. To me there is no more beautiful creature. (Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to meet one in person ;) ). I also love dragons, faeries, gnomes and wizards. I hope to have some links to good fantasy sites up soon!! If you'd like to see a sample of some of my artwork, dragon included, you find it on the Ladyart page.
Now you can find out a little more about Ladyhawke's Family.
