Is Jesus God?

                         Exodus 20:1-6

1 ¶ And God spake all these words, saying:
2  "I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4  Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5  Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me,
6  and showing loving kindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments."

Anyone who considers the Old Testament to be the word of God would have to wonder why Christians, who also believe the Old Testament, worship Jesus.  The objections of God against man serving other gods is clear, but if God mediates between Himself and man, there won't be a violation of any commands.   The mediation would require satisfying His justice, for in Ps. 62:12 it is written that He will render every man according to his deeds.  Since there is none righteous and no one seeks after God, then what man will receive is the wrath of God.
     Deut 32:22-24
22  For a fire is kindled in Mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest hell: It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23  I will heap disaster I upon them; I will spend MY arrows upon them:
24  They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts will I send upon them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.

In Psalms 32:1-2 it says God forgives sins;

1 ¶ <> Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.
2  Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.

And in Psalm 62:7-8, God is described as my salvation, my glory, my strength and my refuge, therefore God is not only judge, but our savior as well.

So how can God judge and be savior?  There must be satisfaction for the penalty of breaking His law.  He did this by  becoming man and sacrificing Himself.
Isaiah 53:1-12
1 ¶ Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed?
2  For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no stately form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3  He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not.
4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7  He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
8  By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due?
9  And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 ¶ Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.
11  He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities.
12  Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
