My name is Kathy and I have had Miniature Pinschers for almost 7 years. I got my first minpin Marnie (Aust Ch. Shiralea Choquita) solely to do obedience work with; Marnie did very well at it but did love to be the clown - any sign of a laugh or a clap and she was off. I began showing Marnie a few months after I got her and it didn't take long to get the bug.
I got my second min pin Axle (Aust Ch. Shiralea Hot to Trot) a few months later. Axle never liked showing but loved obedience work. He is now living a life of luxury up the mountains in a lovely pet home.;
I had been in the breed for about 3 years before I started breeding.
In my first litter I only got one puppy who over the years has given me so much joy. Toby (Aust Ch. Marniechar Ment Tobe) and I do obedience on a regular basis and he has taken to it like a duck to water. Min Pins are very intelligent little dogs and adapt very well to most situations. I have had quite a lot of success with Toby in the show ring. Having several classes in Group and in Show. His main claim to fame was Runner Up to Best in Show at the Miniature Pinscher Club of NSW Championship Show in October 1997.
I then bought a little girl for my daughter Charmaines birthday - Lightning (Aust Ch Eaglevale Dark Crystal) the two are inseparable. Charmaine also does obedience with Lightning and although it is a challenge for her they are working well as a team.
A year after Toby was born I had another litter. And kept a lovely boy Keannu (Aust Ch. Marniechar Keannu) .
One year later along came my next litter. I had three pups two of which I kept. Samarah (Aust Ch. Marniechar Samarah) and Zac (Marniechar Zacariah) He is now in a pet home and doing well. All were black and tans. Samarah has gone on to be quite successful in the show ring. At the age of 3months and 1 week took out Baby in Show at the Victorian Miniature Pinscher Champ Show. While Zac took our Opposite Baby. She has had several classes in Group and in Show and at the age of 8 months was awarded Runner up to Best in Show at the 4P's All Toy Dog Club Champ Show in 1998.
Mr Woofe (Marniechar Mr Woofe- named after the late Mr Woof of NSW a wonderful judge and a real gentleman - the pups were born on the day he passed away.) Todate he has sired 2 litters both of which we are very happy with.
I could not imagine my life without these wonderful little (big) dogs. They have brought my daughter and I so much joy and laughter.
