We purchased our first breeding stock from veterinarian Nat Adams' Anthemion herd of Sanger, Texas in early January, 1988. We had met Nat at the 1987 Texas State Fair, and knew that we could trust the health of her animals. When we arrived at her farm, we were totally overwhelmed with the numbers of alpines she had - we had never seen so many at one time! It was a hard decision, but we settled on three does: Diana (French), Cecelia (Experimental), and Velvet (American). We were certainly blessed with our choices - they all proved extremely productive both in milk and in numbers of  kids produced. A year later we purchased one additional bred doe from Nat, Rachael - also American, when we had taken Diana and her daughter back to be bred.

In the Spring of 1989, we purchased a French half-sister to Simon - Annie - at the same time we purchased him from the Nodaway herd. Then in December of that year we purchased one last French doe from Pat Thornton's Circle T herd, Sharon, who we subsequently sold in a year and a half to a friend's mother who really wanted her. These are the only six alpine does that we have ever purchased. Their 2-generational pedigrees are provided in entirety - with the exception of Rachael's (her daughter Raquel's is shown) - according to the age of the doe. All our homebred does are listed only with sire and dam name as they can be traced back to one or more of these six gals that have positively contributed to our herd.

In Memoriam

Thank you Nat Adams for allowing us the privilege of owning Diana for 12 cherished years. Her longevity, productivity, conformation and disposition were a true tribute to your breeding program and became in every sense the very heart of ours. As the premier foundation doe in our herd, Diana's legacy lives on through her numerous progeny.
