Allow us to introduce ourselves.
I, Cleo, am a gorgeous sable Burmese.
I was even cuter as a kitten. The name on my pedigree papers is "Mitie's Cleopatra, Queen of
Denial" since no matter what gets broken, it's never my fault. My humans have never owned a pedigreed feline, and so,
I'm in the process of teaching them the proper care and feeding
of a member of royalty. I expect that this will be a life-long
project. They're slow learners but I'm trying to be patient, as I know they mean well. *sigh*
I also try to help the humans in any way I can. I follow them all over constantly looking for opportunities to be of service. Sometimes the humans forget that I'm attending them, and being the clumsy species they are, trip over me or step on my tail. It's a thankless job but I suppose someone has to do it.
My brother, Tony, is a champagne Burmese, and
is six years old (same as me). Here's a picture of us together when we were kittens. Tony's pretty mellow, and usually
does what I tell him to do. Which is nice since he outweighs me by several pounds. Tony's pedigree name is "Mitie's
Prince Antony". (You notice that while he's a prince, I am QUEEN. That's no mistake.)
Our favorite place in the whole world is the tan and burgundy afghan (aka "the bankie") on the couch, and we tend to pitch hissy fits when it's removed to be washed. Tony's special place is the sheepskin, but I can't see why he likes it so much. I mean, it smells funny, and he knows that I refuse to come within a foot of it. Hey, wait a minute....
Our favorite playthings are the Newt Gingrich catnip toy (we're Democats), and the squiggly pole with the big green feather on it. We actually have something called a "motor mouse" where this dead mouse goes around and around and around. We could watch this for hours. And we do.
We used to share our house with an old, crotchety tortoiseshell cat named Fat Mama Cat. We tried and tried to get her to play with us, but being old and set in her ways, all she'd ever do was swat and hiss at us. One day she disappeared though, so now WE run the house. Obviously, things are now in much better order!
