I have
been working on collecting genealogical information on my family for about fifteen years
now. In the early days it took very many hours of searching through microfilms and indexes
at the National Archive in Washington, DC, the Genealogy Room of the Library or Congress
in Washington, and the LDS Family History Center in Kensington, MD
The first step in "automation" was the local bulletin board systems which
allowed professional and amateur genealogists to communicate across the metropolitan area
and across the country.
Now, with the growth of the World Wide Web and the emergence of CD-ROMs there are new, easier, more powerful avenues for sharing genealogical information.
The basic data is from my data set using Family Tree Maker for Windows (I am currently
using version 7.5)
Family Tree Maker has an extensive website including webpages for users.
I have set up a page but
have not yet included any reports there.
(updated January 30, 2000)
The resulting data is displayed on my Family Genealogy
Page.
