Why is this picture so horrible!?
|
HEY! Well, if you must know,
it's a government picture - but it's the only one I have
to put here at the moment. But thanks for asking.... :-)

Well, that's me....but to give you a better idea about who I am, I'll tell these few things:
- Some of my favorite movies are (in no particular order):
- Navy Blue and Gold (1937) - James Stweart, Robert Young, Lionel Barrymore, Billie Burke ("Glanda, the Good Witch" in The Wizard of Oz)
- Call Northside 777 (1948) - James Stweart, Lee J. Cobb, E.G. Marshall
- Mr. Smith goes to Washington (1939) - James Stweart, Jean Arthur, Claude Rains, Harry Carey
- Scrooge (1951) - Alastair Sim, Jack Warner, Hermione Baddeley
- The bells of St. Mary's (1945) - Bing Crosby, Ingrid Bergman, Henry Travers ("Clarence" the guardian angel in It's a Wonderful Life)
- Life with Father (1947) - William Powell, Elizabeth Taylor, Irene Dunnne, Edmund Gwynn ("Kris Kringle" in Miracle on 34th Street)
- Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951) - Gregory Peck, Virginia Mayo
- Mr. Roberts (1955) - Henry Fonda, Jack Lemmon, William Powell ("Father" in Life with Father)
- In Harm's Way (1965) - John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Burgess Meredith ("The Penguin" in televison's Batman series), Carroll O'Connor ("Archie Bunker" in television's All in the Family)
- Angels in the outfield (1951) - Paul Douglas, Janet Leigh, Keenan Wynne
- Miracle on 34th Street (1947) Natalie Wood, Maureen O'Hara, Edmund Gwynn, Jack Albertson ("The Man" in television's Chico and the Man)
Actually the list goes on and on....just about any James Stewart, Jack Lemmon, or Clint Eastwood movie works for me...but I think this gives a fair idea of what I like: light entertainment, or conflict where the good guy wins and evil is punished (that's why I like Clint Eastwood's movies - especially the Dirty Harry series!). My basic philosophy on movies is
that I want to be entertained; I have enough problems of my own without paying darn near ten dollars to watch a downer thrown at me twenty feet tall in Surround Sound®!!
I love Navy football, because the service academies - Army, Air Force, Navy, and, in Division I-AA, the Coast Guard Academy - are the epitome of college football. I root for Navy in particular because I was born
at the Naval Academy hospital in 1957 and because my family has a long and proud tradition of Naval service. (ok...this is just between us...I root for Navy when we play Army or Air Force, but I root for Army and Air Force when they play anyone else...)
I like just about every kind of music there is - classical, country, dixieland, blues, new age, big band, and the rock of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. However, I hate showtunes, acid rock and modern rap!!!!!!!
