Hello
there, how is the coffee brewing?
Its been
a long time since I made a new page.
Sunday
was really one of those odd days, but I could see God working.
He always provides our needs. At church I gave a man that has
cancer some money and told him to take his wife and 3 kids out
to eat. It was the first time he has was able to come to church
after getting out of the hospital and he does not have a job
and cannot work anymore; he is starting to look like a skelton
from the chemo.)
He tried
to give the money back to me but I told him NO, that God told
me to give it to him, and I walked off so he would not try to
give me the money back again.... When we got home, I was going
to fix up my large bowl of veggies I eat on, so I opened the
freezer to get them out, and everything had melted, all the meat
and food, pies were defrosted and then I found the Freezer was
unplugged.
This has
never happened the 29 yrs. we have had this large chest freezer,
one of the kids must have been messing with it. We had to throw
away a lot of stuff and we had just bought groceries a few days
ago. A few of the meat packages on the botton next to a half
melted bag of ice were Ok so we cooked up the meat, threw away
the other meat and some veggies that were warm. We cleaned out
the freezer, (seems like the only way to get it defrosted, ha!)
I put
back most of the veggies to refreeze them and hope they are ok,
put the butter back and hope it is ok also. We had to throw away
a lot of unbaked pies, and I am so glad I had not made my fruit
cakes yet and had them in there.... About this time, our pastor
came over and he brought us 4 large sacks of potatoes and a box
full of gala apples. I gave him some corn on the cob and an apple
pie from the freezer that was completely thawed out for him to
take home and cook right then. (the reason I did not cook the
other pies instead of throwing them out, is that I was too tired
from cooking up a lot of the veggies, cleaning out freezer and
loading it again, and from going to church and out to eat.)
After
He left, I gave the 4 sacks of potatoes to someone else for his
wife to make potato salad from this sunday's church thanksgiving
meal (I cannot eat potatoes and she said she likes them alot)
Then since
there were enough apples that would take me weeks to eat them
before they would ruin, I took some of the apples to the kids
next door to us. Now, look at how many people were blessed with
food because our freezer got un-plugged, We got blessed by our
pastor bringing us food, in return another friend and his family
were blessed with what we took to him, and the people in the
church will be blessed with potato salad or what ever is made
from the potatoes, and I was blessed from giving, and it all
started with me giving that man money.
We cannot
out give God; GLORY!..
Love in
Christ, Linda
