FROM THE PREZ...

April 2000

Dear Cousins,

BIG NEWS since the last newsletter!

For starters, Dick and I got married December 30th! (See full story in separate article elsewhere in the newsletter. Stay tuned for the wedding reception/celebration plans!

THEN, on February 28th, the Puget Sound area was hit by an earthquake! WHOA! The magnitude of the quake was 6.8, which is a pretty heavy earthquake. There was minimal damage, few injuries, and no deaths, which is unusual for a quake that size. We were told that because it was so deep (30 miles under the surface) it was not as damaging as it might have been had it been a shallow quake. Pretty exciting, anyway! See separate stories for Northwest Cousins' earthquake experiences!

Other than those two BIG STORIES, life goes on. Boeing is keeping me busy -- working for clients in the manufacturing area of the commercial airplanes company, doing process improvements for various operations, and traveling to St. Louis to serve on staff at the Boeing Executive Program (BEP) as an executive coach. It's a great assignment, and I feel lucky to have the opportunity.

Another segment in the "Family Pieces" series is also included in this newsletter -- this one on the "old green chest of drawers" that was in one of the basement bedrooms in Grandmama's house at 892 Hill Stree in Athens. Now I KNOW some of you also have "family pieces", so please write them up and help preserve the history of these treasures!

So that's about it from this end. Hope you are all well and happy, and springing into Spring!
Take care, have fun and DON'T FORGET TO RECYCLE!

Much Love, Cousin Sue
