Cousin Chart

This page is very wide, therefore it will be necessary to use the scroll bar to see it all, if your settings are less than 800 x 600. If you wish to print this page, adjust the page setup to landscape. You can access this through the File button on your brower's toolbar.

Have you ever wondered how you are related to someone? All that cousin business can be pretty confusing. If you have a distant cousin who shares a common ancestor (no more than 5 generations back) here is where to find the answer. The chart below shows the degree of cousins for six generations.

The chart is easy to use, just fill in the text areas (the white boxes on the chart) with the names of your ancestors along the top. Use your tab key to move to the each box. Fill in the names of your cousins ancestors down the side. If you make a mistake, no problem, press the reset button and try again.

Once the chart is filled in, follow the column and row of your selected individuals to where they intersect. That box shows the relationship the two individuals share. Remember multiplication tables? Well, it's just like that!
