The best-tasting soup brand: (tie) Kroger Store Brand & Campbell's Home Cooking
Methodology:
We chose five different chicken noodle soups to determine which is the
best brand of soup. Chicken Noodle was the most common flavor, so
we picked it. Three of the varieties are from Campbell's (Homecooking,
Chunky, and Red Label), with one store brand (Kroger), along with Progresso.
All brands were heated equally. Here's what we learned:
Teresa | Harry | |
#1 | Kroger | Homecooking |
#2 | Progresso | Chunky |
#3 | Homecooking | Kroger |
#4 | Chunky | Campbell's Red Label |
#5 | Campbell's Red Label | Progresso |
We don't eat a lot of soup, because Teresa usually makes homemade soup, but if we did, this taste test convinced us that store brand soup may be a good alternative. I like my soup thick, with lots of stuff in it, so I was more impressed by Chunky soup than Teresa was. I didn't think that Progresso tasted all that great, and neither of us ranked the standard Campbell's Red Label soup very high on the list.
