Real Friends
I felt weak, I thought I'd fall,
I felt disoriented and I felt small,
You held my hand and gave me reassurance,
And though my back was up against the wall,
Your friendship gave me the spirit to stand tall.
You knew my wounds and cuts were deep,
You held my hands and let me weep,
You gave me courage to once again feel,
You touched my heart and let me heal.
Though others were deaf to my desperate plea,
You extended your hand and let me see,
How I could conquer my terrible sorrow,
And open the door to a new tomorrow.
You brightened my nights and lightened my days,
I was chill with despair but I felt your care,
Now all my burdens have become so easy to bear,
A friend such as you is magnificently rare!
