The Wojnar letter was a response to GAO from the FAA
(Wojnar) and NTSB
(Coughlin)
based on my briefing GAO in 92 on A/C wire problems. I sent John King a
chronology including GAO's answer to me. Ed Block
On my site, I have a couple of Wojnar's letters
posted under SUPPORTING
DOCUMENTS. I think you will find the whole letter there. It is 3 pages long
and addressed to Ed Block and there is another letter by him. You will note
that he says "the FAA has no intention of changing their
standards for wire."
That is because THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY STANDARDS PERIOD. They are hanging their
hat on Industry standards and are expecting airplane manufacturers. to use ANY
ACCEPTABLE TYPE OF WIRE THEY DESIRE. THAT'S WHAT I CALL A
BLANK CHECK. That's
NOT the role of our SAFETY ADVOCATE.
