The purpose of the YMCA Adventure Guides program (formerly Indian Guides) is to foster communication, understanding and companionship between a father and a child through the teaching of values, attitudes, fitness and health, knowledge and ethics.

Are you a busy father? Are you looking for quality interaction with your son or daughter, but find it difficult to make time and arrange those special experiences?

Imagine hiking through the wilderness, exploring wooded landscapes, rolling in winter snow, singing songs around the campfire, performing skits, and learning and exploring together. This is a special time in your son and  daughter’s life. The Adventure Guides Program (formerly known as Indian Guides) is an ideal way to share the excitement of many of your child’s first experiences. Experiences that will last a lifetime.

Adventure Guide Program Aims

• To be clean in body and pure in heart

• To be pals forever with my dad/mom/son/daughter

• To love the sacred circle of my family

• To listen while others speak

• To love my neighbor as myself

• To respect the traditions and beliefs of all people

• To seek and preserve the beauty of Our Creator's work in forest, field, and stream
