Service Projects
Bird Feeders
Our Community had a contest. Each troop needed to submit a recycled
bird feeder. The winning troop won a pizza party. Unfortunately we did not
win. But we had fun hanging them in the woods at a local lake.
Project Linus
You can send handmade blankets to sick children for a security
blanket. For more information go to Project
Linus.
Presby Nursing Home
On Valentine's Day each year my Brownie troop goes to the Presby home
to visit the patients. On the meeting before, we make Valentine Cards and
we pass them out when we visit. The patients really look forward to it
every year.
Can Good Donation
At Christmas and Easter our troop gathers can goods to take to our
local food pantry.
Puppet Theater
Make a puppet theater and puppets and donate it to a local church
that has a play room or to a local shelter.
Recycled Greeting Cards
I found this one on the Internet. Send only the fronts of greeting
cards as long as they are not written on the other side) to the following
address. The children there make recycled greeting cards.

with school supplies, health supplies, etc. You can also make placemats,
Christmas stockings, or Easter baskets.
Holiday Meal Box
Instead of collecting can goods for Thanksgiving this year we are
putting together a holiday meal box and we are going to donate it to the
local food bank to be given to a needy family for their Thanksgiving
dinner. Items included are as follows:
We added alot to the list, but we divided the list between the girls
and the troop will buy some of it. We are also going to make placemats to
put it the box and we are going to decorate the outside of the box with
different colored cut out leaves.
Sponsor an Animal
We sponsored a rabbit at our local zoo. His name is Claiborn. Learn
more about Claiborn on our rabbit page.
National Teacher Appreciation Day
We baked cookies for our teachers and passed them out on this day.
The teachers just loved them.
Stuffed Animals
The girls collected stuffed animals and we donated them to a local
woman's shelter.
ER Kits
The girls stuffed ziploc bags with the following items and donated
