De Soto is 141 years old
this year. The town sits on the southern bank of the Kansas River - or
Kaw River - depending on where you're from. We are located 20 minutes west
of the metro Kansas City area, and 20 minutes east of Lawrence, Home of
the Jayhawks.
The Trish & Spike farmstead
is approximately 3 miles outside of De Soto. We are surrounded by two beautiful
creeks, plenty of woods and hills. There are farms on the road we live
on - they raise just about everything; such as sheep, goats, horses, chickens,
and emus. We have cattle, geese, a goat, 2 dogs, and 3 cats! Yeee haw!
We moved to De Soto in June,
1996.
