This is a lovely site, you are a brave woman to have given a baby up while keeping another, I do so admire you, i wish that open adoption was available to me when I gave my son up for adoption in 1981. I also spent time in a mother and baby home, and this had a longterm effect on me. I am taking a virtual trip looking for what happened to my grandma, JANIS SHAW. JANIS was born in Sandusky OH ca. 1906. Her father was JAMES SHAW, b. IL ca. 1883, the son of Scotch immigrants. Her mother was BLANCH(E) maiden name unknown, b. OH ca. 18 8. The SHAW family was in Detroit MI when my dad, MAURICE BARTELL SHAW, was born in 1920. Janis was only 13 at the time and my dad was raised by adoptive parents. There are no records of the Shaw family after my dad’s birth. Has anyone seen JANIS SHAW

Thank you. I'm not the only one. I have two sons, 8 & 7, both are "special". My 8 year old has been diagnosed by a psychiatrist with ADHD(the combined aggressive form), bi-polar disorder & ODD. My 7 year old is ADHD but I'm having him reexamined becaus the ritalin just isn't helping. Between the two boys I think I'm ready to lose my mind at times!! I'm doing a lot of research about this things. Sometimes I feel I know more than the doctors. I have stories that would make a parent of a "normal" chil faint. I, too deal with a lot of the same problems you have. My son, who is now 10 years old, was first called ADD. I pushed for further diagnosis and it was discovered that he is Bipolar after being certified SED. He attends a special school. I have two other c ildren, each with problems of their own. I read your page and could feel your pain. I see the same pain in my husband's eyes when he has to go to a new doctor and they ask him about his family history. He know nothing. He has suffered panick attacks for years. I don't know if there is a hist ry of this or if it is because he needs to know his family. I hope that you find that which you seek. I am interested in finding out more about adoption rings. I read in the Village Voice that there is a group of Christian fundamentalists who find pregnant women, arrange for their adoption with a member of their congregation and then whisk them off to a state where there are loose adoption laws then these children are. misused in many ways. Jen I met you online back in July and you have been a very dear friend to me but after reading this I feel that I truly understand you. Your words moved me so much that I sat here crying and feeling alot of the emotions you must have gone through. Altho gh I didn't not give either of my children up for adoption I know the turmoil that you were in because I did also have to make the decision whether to keep them.
