Red Bank Charter School

Fourth Grade Field Trip

This Election Day Mrs. Linares' class had the opportunity to go to the Liberty Science Center at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey.  The class departed the school at approximately 8:30 am for an hour ride up the GSP and NJ Turnpike to exit 14B.  As they arrived they were met by an employee of the Science Center who explained the rules of conduct.  All of the students disembarked from the bus and entered the facility.

They broke up into three groups each chaperoned by a teacher or a parent.  As they wandered the different floors filled with many exhibits there was a time table that had to be kept.  At 10:45 am the group met to see the "3-D Laser Show -Brainstorms: Creativity in Flight" and after the show they visited more exhibits.  The group then met again for lunch at 11:45 am which lasted about 20 minutes.  They then wandered some more to see several more exhibits before going to the IMAX Theater where they saw the movie "Wolves" which started at 1:00 pm.

After that they once again visited some more exhibits and the souvenir store before leaving on the bus for the return trip back to the "Charter School" at 2:30 pm.  The bus arrived back at the school safely at approximately 3:45 pm so the students could go home for the day.

Below are several images of the trip:

Here you can see the Hoberman Sphere as the students and chaperons saw it.

The students enjoyed the  where they saw a fly,

a platypus, rhino, giraffe, squid, and finally a chameleon.
