Imagine the Red Bank Charter School
Imagine a challenging, stimulating enviroment where learning is fun. Imagine a safe, caring place where teachers, parents and children are partners in learning. Imagine a place where teachers are supported and encouraged to excel. Imagine a place where teachers have sense of ownership for their children's learning. Imagine a place where individual differences are respected and children feel good about themselves. Imagine a place where success is expected and achieved. Imagine that. Imagine the Red Bank Charter School.
Red Bank is a community with rich history and an exciting future. Situated along the banks of the Navesink River, Red Bank benefits from daily exposure to the wonders of nature's beauty. Long a commercial center, Red Bank has a historic downtown that is renowned throughout the state for its architectural splendor, thriving commerce and devotion to the arts. Our community is blessed with a population as diverse as that of our country and it is this diversity that gives Red Bank its strength and character.
The Red Bank Charter School is dedicated to fostering an enviroment where this cultural diversity will be valued and understood. By addressing the educational needs of our children we will ensure the future growth and preservation of our community. We will provide the ethnic and cultural diversity that a public education in Red Bank should possess.
The Red Bank Charter School will open to all Red Bank children in Grades 4 through 8. While maintaining high academic standards, the school will take an integrative approach to learning, particularly focusing on implementing arts and technology throughout the structured curriculum. We will use Service Learning to support the idea that every child can learn and, has gifts and talents that can contribute to the development of society. The implementation of education based service learning will promote the integration of academic learning with social responsibility and good citizenship. In addition, an Inter-Arts program will meld the arts into the learning process and the curriculum. It will include fine art, performing arts and music while using art to inspire learning. With our regional high school hosting a performing arts school, the charter school is in a unique position to use this method of teaching to motivate students.
It is our belief that any child can achieve his or her highest potential when an educational enviroment values and promotes respect for individuals, appreciates the richness of a culturally diverse community and takes ownership for its success.
The Red Bank Charter School will help each child develop academically as well as socially by developing skills in decision making, conflict resolution and creative problem solving. Such values and skills will develop further from role modeling by the educational community. Students, teachers, administrators and parents, will commit to fostering the values of respect, personal responsibility and good citizenship.
The Red Bank Charter School will promote parental and community involvement. Since parents will be exercising their freedom of choice by sending their children to the charter school, all participants will be encouraged to make a commitment to become actively involved in the education of their children. Our school will seek to become an extension of the family as an academic and social support system.
As advocates for our children, the Red Bank Charter School accepts the responsibilty for the success of our students and our mission to provide an extraordinary educational opportunity for all. We guarantee positive results. Imagine that.
