Thanks for visiting the Monahans' homestead pages. I hope you will enjoy your stay, and invite you to drop in any time to see what's new. Here's a brief explanation of what you can find here.
First off, there are four different ways to explore the place. Each takes you through the same nine areas, but the names and graphics are different. Using the medieval metaphor, you'll see black-and-white illustrations of castles and associated places; the space metaphor uses photographs from Star TrekŪ; the tropical metaphor features island sketches created by my stepdaughter June Czanik. For those of you on slow dialup lines, the text mode has no pictures or frames, just a friendly homelike atmosphere.
Once you choose a way to explore, you'll find a variety of information about the Monahans: who we are, what we do, what we believe. Most of this material was compiled by me (John); the other family members have their own pages, but haven't developed them yet. So, for instance, the pages on fiction and on sports reflect my own personal views. I do want to draw your attention to two areas of interest. For our Christian visitors (and others who are curious), the chapel contains a collection of scriptures for inspiration, reflection, and witnessing. And for everyone interested in discussing the issues of the day, the study (also called the tower, captain's quarters, or speaker's rock) is my attempt at publishing an opinions column on the net. You'll find a number of essays there already, and I hope to receive suggestions for additional topics to pursue. In any case there should be something new every month. Select the icon labeled "new" on the main page for a summary.
One caution before you proceed: the structure of this place may change over time. So if you decide to make a bookmark to this place (and I hope you will), please use the main page rather than individual pages within it. Thanks, and have a pleasant visit!
