A survey of Alabama records included a look at Josiah Ricks, of Shelby and Greene Counties. The following research note and information was not included in my 1998 publication, but the material might be of interest to descendants of that Ricks family. This report on:

is an example of my method of composing personal research notes. The authors of these cited publications might object to the amount of abstracted information provided here, but I mention these sources for the great help they have been to me. Any complaint will result in the immediate removal of this file. My computer records contain many such reports.
