The Newcastle Knights play Rugby League Football out of Hunter Region of New South Wales Australia.After many years of taking their case for inclusion in the ARL Competition they were invited to play in the ARL competition in 1988. Since then there have been many ups ands downs. Games lost that shouldn't have been lost, players came with big reputations, but didn't live up to these reputations. Coaches have come and gone, but the spirit has been there. 1997, was our year, the " Optus Cup " was ours. The Knights returned as Champions, welcomed home by hundreds of thousands of loyal supporters. The Knights had only to wait until 2001 to carry home the "Telsta Cup", the prize given to the NRL Champion Team.
