My Reunion Story

Great news! During the last week of January, 1998, I was finally reunited with my birthmom, Edna!

I searched for just about a year before I found her, with the help of Paul Brown, of The Adoptees Miracle Search Network. We did it!!!

Right now, I'm in the process of getting to know my "new" family. Mom and I mostly write letters back and forth, since phone calls are so expensive! But we trade lots of news and photos. It's a bit of a whirlwind at times, but it's great fun.

My birthmother, a woman without a face or name until recently, is now a big part of my life. My adoptive parents ARE my "real" parents, too, and will always be. They are irreplaceable. But so is Edna! And now I have the blessing of learning who she is, and sharing with her who I've become.

God answered all my prayers -- it was as if this reunion was custom-ordered! My special thanks go out once again to those who prayed for me, and who were there for me during this hard search. Most especially I'm grateful to my fantastic husband, Dan -- he put up with the emotional roller coaster of searching, and was there when I needed a hug or a shoulder to cry on. He's incredible! Also, thank you Dee, Ellen, and everyone else!

At last, I have closure. Praise God!
