Our most wanted person is: "J IVY" of Alabama (born est 1785) was in Jackson County AL in 1850 and Mississippi in 1860 and 1870. J. J. IVY was also known as Jarrot/Jarrett/Jerrett Jones IVY who was married to Eliza J. WALLS

1.Jarret Jones IVY was born September 14, 1814 in North Carolina (Source: (1) Burelson County, TX, 1880 Federal Census, MF 311 T9 Number 1293 Page 26, Household 94., (2) Jackson County, AL, 1850 Federal Census, Page 40, Household number 576.). He died February 3, 1885 in Tunis, Texas. (source, buried in Providence Cemetery, Burleson County, TX) He married
1) Eliza J. WALLS Dec 5, 1839 in Jackson County, Alabama.

2 i. John IVY, born August 4, 1844 in Alabama (Source: Jackson County, AL, 1850 Federal Census, Page 40, Household number 576.).died August 4, 1879 in Tunis, TX He married Mattie J. SHIELDS  Abt. 1868, daughter of W. Shields and Sarah COLBERT.

3 ii. Julia IVY, born Abt. 1846 in Alabama (Source: Jackson County, AL, 1850 Federal Census, Page 40, Household number 576.). She married Gideon ROYAL

4 iii. Martha IVY, born Abt. 1848 in Alabama (Source: Jackson County, AL, 1850 Federal Census, Page 40, Household number 576.).Died February 12, 1878 in Burleson County, TX. She married John William FISHER, Jr. on December 14, 1869 in Lafayette County, MS

5 iiii. Mary IVY, born Abt. 1851 in Alabama (Source: Seth Groce, Burleson County, TX Grandson of husband); died February 12, 1878 Caldwell, Burleson County, TX - She married James Robert (J.R.) GROCE on December 10, 1867 in Lafayette County, MS ( She had three daughters before her death) .

6 v. William (Bill) IVY, born July 01, 1853 in Alabama (Source: 1880 Census, Burleson County, TX); died November 22, 1933 in Caldwell, TX -(source: Courthouse Records, Burleson County, TX Death certificate # 758.) JR and Jessie IVY went to Caldwell to bury him.

+ 7 vi. Elida Ann IVY, born Abt. 1855, AL; died abt 1890 in Burleson County, TX (probably Tunis, TX). She married J. Cicero FLANAGAN on June 30, 1875 and had 9 children before her death

+ 8 vii. Jerrett Randolph (JR) IVY, born November 05, 1859 in Mississippi; died May 24, 1939 in Mills County, Texas.

THIS IS NOT CERTAIN- ONLY THEORY There could possibly be another daughter, a Maggie Ivy born abt 1857 in AL or MS, married W H. Graham, November 16, 1874, in Lafayette County, MS

8. Jarret Randolph (JR) IVY (Source: Burelson County, TX, 1880 Federal Census, MF 311 T9 #1293 Page 26 , Household # 94.) was born November 05, 1859 in Mississippi (Source: Birth date and location taken from Death Certificate and June 2, 1939 Goldthwaite Eagle Obituary and Birth state confirmed by 1880 Census, Burleson County, TX), and died May 24, 1939 in Mills County, Texas (Source: Mills County, TX Courthouse Records, Death Volume 2, page 234.). He married
(1) Donnie Elizabeth Alderman GROSS/GROCE Abt. 1882 (Source: Jessie S. Ivy death certificate lists Alderman as his mother). Do not know where Donnie Elizabeth is buried.

(2) Sarah Emeline (James) REID married on January 18, 1906 in San Saba, TX (Source: San Saba Courthouse Marriage records, Vol. E, page 369- Have photo copy), daughter of Pleasant JAMES and Elizabeth Jane Adeline PACE and Sarah was a widow of Dyer REID and mother to eleven children. She and her infant son (from J. R. Ivy) are buried in Regency Cemetery

(3) Mary Josephine (Gunter) CROWDER March 14, 1927 in Brownwood, TX (Source: photocopy of Marriage license, Brown County), daughter of G.W. GUNTER and Martha ALLRED and widow of Frank CROWDER mother of four sons. She is buried next to Frank CROWDER

7 i. Mary Liza IVY, born Abt. 1885 (Source: Photocopy of Newspaper Obituary, of JR Ivy, 1939.). She married Henry VINCENT and the family story is they had a dozen children, Where are all of these Vincents??

She married James Baz (J. B.) JONES September 17, 1916 in Brownwood, TX (Source: Brown County Courthouse records, Book 8, page 200).

had one son,Ivy Howard JONES. I am seeking information on Her descendants. Ivy was to have married a woman and adopted her four children

10 i. Baby Boy Ivy, born May 15, 1910 in Near Regency, TX in San Saba County (Source: Birth certificate on file San Saba Co. Courthouse, Birth records, Book 3, pag 56 . Have copy); died October 04, 1910 in Near Regency, TX in San Saba County (Source: Record on file San Saba County Courthouse, in death records 1911-1917 line 1 on the "I" page.).

No issue or children were born of the marriage of Jarret Randolph IVY and Mary Josephine (GUNTER) CROWDER:
Both J.R. and Mary were 68 years old at the time of their marriage. They were married about 13 months after the death of J.R.'s second wife.

"Sharon & Weldon -

I have a solid identification of S.A. Shields - a collection of court documents which includes her own sworn testimony! She is Sarah Colbert, daughter of Flem Colbert, granddaughter of William Colbert, and she was married on the same day as was W.E. Shields. She said that Mattie Dunn was her daughter, and that Colbert & John Ivy, Ella Smith, and John & Hope Dunn were her grandchildren. There are lots of details that tie together, too.

Lots of pages to be analyzed - I will keep you informed.
